![]() He is quite straightforward and has a laidback and uncaring facade. He has to take over Geu-ru’s guardianship after being released from jail. Geu-ru’s upright dad is the opposite of his younger half-brother Cho Sang-gu (Lee Je-hoon). ![]() One would attached to Geu-ru and his passion and commitment to doing his task right just like how his father taught him. I must say Han Geu-ru is a well-written central character that effectively holds the audience’s curiosity to the main plot and at the same time a reliable narrator for the subplots introduced in each episode. After his dad Han Jeong-woo (Ji Jin-hee) died, he is left alone to handle their trauma cleaning service Move to Heaven. Move to Heaven has a central character in the form of Han Geu-ru, played by brilliant young actor Tang Jun-sang. In this edition of K-Drama Rewind, let’s look back to things worth remembering about Move to Heaven. ![]() Move to Heaven, which is based on the essay anthology Things Left Behind by former trauma cleaner Kim Sae-byul, tells a story that will linger on you after watching it. What I didn’t expect was how humane and compassionate the storytelling would be, that it could still be a touching series even when the story deals with the heavy subject of grief. When I first saw the trailer for this 2021 Netflix original series Move to Heaven, I already expected that it would deal with the morbid subject of death. The first time I encountered a story about trauma cleaning was through an article about the Japanese phenomenon called Kodukushi, which means lonely death.
